Nadal v Federer live streaming

Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal

We've reached the final of the 2009 Australian Open Men's Tennis Championship, and we're set to witness yet another battle of the tennis titans as World No. 1 Rafael Nadal meets World No. 2 Roger Federer for the seventh time in a Grand Slam final.

After some surprising results that saw both players faced with five set matches by unexpected opposition, the top two seeds have overcome all other threats to progress to their first meeting since the epic five-set marathon in the final of Wimbledon 2008

With both players showing some of their best form in the tournament, which of the two champions will be able to produce something brilliant that will tip the balance in what is set to be another enthralling match between tennis's top two men?

Roger Federer

This match will be Roger Federer's fourth appearance in the final of the Australian Open, with the World No. 2 winning all three of his previous appearances.

In his last two matches, we have witnessed the 27-year-old Swiss champion find the form which originally propelled him into tennis's top spot, firstly by demolishing Juan Martin del Potro in just 80 minutes in the quarter-finals, and then by soundly dispatching of former arch-rival Andy Roddick in a confident straight-sets display in the semi-finals.

On his current form Federer once again looks near-unstoppable, and it will surely take something extremely special and brilliant to stop the former World No. 1 from claiming his fourth title in Melbourne.

Rafael Nadal

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal was having what could only be described as an effortless and unchallenging run to his first ever Australian Open Final, after defeating his first five opponents in simple straight-sets encounters. That is, until he met fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the semi-finals.

In an incredible and ultimately unexpected display, Nadal had to produce his best form to post the victory in a five-set, five hours and 14 minutes marathon that set the record for the longest ever Australian Open match to date.

To Nadal's credit, the length and difficulty of this match was not the result of the 22-year-old dropping the level of his game in any way, but rather, that his opponent found the best form of his career and pushed the reigning Wimbledon and French Open champion to his limit.

The victory is undoubtedly a testament to the World No. 1's stamina and mental prowess, but it will remain to be seen whether he will have the energy left to put in a similar performance against an even greater foe in Federer.

Cowon iAudio U5 Photos

Cowon iAudio U5

Cowon iAudio U5

The Cowon iAudio U5 is a simple music player from the Korean company. Unlike Cowon's previous players that were often overpriced, the U5 aims to be affordable while offering a similar performance like its older brothers. We'll see just how well it performs.
Design and Construction:
At 85.1 x 41.1 x 9.3 mm the U5 is about as tall as a credit card, about two-thirds its width and as thick as a pencil. The U5 weighs just 35g and is so light that you may forget that you even put it in your pocket.
The front side has a 1.8" 262k color 128x160 pixel display, below which lies the circular navigation keys with centre select key and a Menu key on its right. On the left side of the player are the record switch and a sliding key for the Power as well as Hold function. Sliding and holding the key up powers ON or turns OFF the device and sliding it down locks all the keys to prevent accidental key press.
There are no other keys on the player. Most unfortunate is the lack of dedicated volume keys, which in my opinion is necessary for a music player a
nd has far more importance than the dedicated record key that is provided. On the bottom of the player is the 3.5mm headphone jack, the microphone, lanyard loop hole and below a flap are the USB port and reset button.
The player is very well built and feels absolutely solid. All the keys work with clinical efficiency as well. The surface of the player is prone to fingerprints and smudges which look ugly and are a chore to keep clean. The display on the player is average but since there is no image and video support, the display doesn't really have much to showcase apart from displaying text and some colored menu icons which it does very well.

Cowon iAudio U5

Performance:
Coming to the performance aspect, the U5 does not disappoint. The sound quality of the player, true to Cowon tradition, is very good. The bass was nice and punchy, the mids were clean and the highs were clear and sharp; all this without the JetEffect sound enhancements. With so many options available, it is easy to get just the right kind of sound that you would want.

The BBE Effect enhances the bass and treble. The Mach3Bass focuses on the bass, while the 3D Surround sound option adds a pseudo surround effect to the sound. The best part is that these are not just gimmicks but actually work really well. They work so well that it was hard to switch them off, but for the purpose of testing I had to listen to the standard sound. They also have 10 levels of adjustments that really let you fine-tune your sound instead of throwing some preset sound at you. Then there is also the 5-band equalizer and the MP Enhance function which tries to compensate for the lost detail in compressed music, although most of the time all that you'll hear is a slight increase in volume.

The U5 has a 32+32 mW amplifier that is really powerful for a portable music player. The U5 had no problem running even my big headphones flawlessly, as it did with the small earphones. No mater which headphones you connect you can be sure the U5 will be able to power them. The supplied earphones however were very mediocre and should ideally be replaced with something better.

The FM radio has good sound quality too. However, the JetEffects are not available for the FM radio. The sensitivity was average though and indoors the player sometimes won't pick up radio waves. The FM broadcasts can be recorded as well. There is also a voice recorder which uses the built-in microphone. The recording quality was pretty good. You also get the option to select the quality of the recorded audio. You can adjust the audio bitrate and the mic sensitivity.

The data transfer speed is pretty decent. Transferring 100 MB of data took one minute and 33 seconds. As for the battery life, Cowon claims to last 25 hours but I only managed to get 14 hours while listening at moderate volumes with some playing around in the UI and all settings at the default levels.
Conclusion:
The Cowon iAudio U5 is a neat little player. It is small, light, has great sound quality with a dizzying level of sound customization options along with other must-have options such as FM recording and voice recorder. The battery life is decent, if not great and the data transfer speed is good too.
The lack of support for images and videos however makes it less of an all-rounder, which could be a deal breaker for some. But for Rs. 5000/- the U5 4 GB model is a great little player for audiophiles, who won't mind exchanging some features for great audio quality.

Poker Race Trophy in Vienna.

Poker Race Trophy in Vienna.

Poker Race Trophy - DoggyP75 - Q&A

Get to know DoggyP75, the winner of the Poker Race Trophy in Vienna.

POKER 2008 DoggyP75 - 0

Where do you come from?

Helsinki, Finland.

How old are you?

33.

What is your current occupation?

Business Intelligence Consultant in Forest Consulting Company.

When did you start playing poker?

Two and a half years ago.

How many hours of poker do you play per day?

At the moment maybe two to three hours per day. A year ago I was playing maybe four hours per day, but now I try to keep in mind that there should be something else in life other than work and poker.

What was your biggest win before the Poker Race Trophy?

They are really small compared to this. Maybe first place in a small buy-in at an online multi-table tournament or two final-table places at a casino in Helsinki.

How did you get involved in the Poker Race Trophy promotion?

I heard about a freeroll. The promotion sounded like fun, so I decided to try to qualify and I managed to win the freeroll.

Did you have high expectations about the semi-final in Valencia?

Certainly not. From the beginning I kept in mind that there were eight players and only the winner would take a seat at the final in Vienna. So I decided to enjoy the weekend and just try to do my best.

What was the weekend in Valencia like?

It was awesome. We really got VIP treatment. I have been at World Touring Car events before, but it was really interesting to get to see behind the scenes: in the pits, garage area and VIP lounge. Also all the restaurants, sight-seeing tours and clubs were really something.

Was it easy to get used to all the VIP treatment at the racetrack?

It's quite easy to get used to treatment like that and therefore quite hard to get back to real life when you have been pampered for a couple of days.

What was your plan going into the semi-final in Valencia?

With the payout structure (winner takes all) there was only one goal and that was to win. I decided not to be afraid of coin flips and try to play tight, but aggressively. An important thing is always to feel the table and adjust your game based on your reads about other players. You always also have to keep in mind what kind of table image you have created.

Did you like your stay in Vienna?

I really liked the city. Especially at this time of year, with all the Christmas decorations and lighting, Christmas market etc.

You looked quite relaxed: how do you manage to stay that cool in front of the dozens of cameras?

When cards are flying you don't even remember the cameras. It's exactly the same game with or without cameras. When you are giving the interviews it is a little bit harder, but you get used to it as well.

Was your poker face the deciding factor?

Well, you should ask that question to my opponents. I try to give as few hints about my hand strength as possible - maybe my poker face helps with that.

How would you describe your game?

Tight and aggressive - but I always try to adjust my game based on the opponent and the situation at the table.

You were responsible for busting every one of your opponents at the final. How did you manage that?

Maybe because when I believe I am ahead I'm not afraid to make big raises or calls even when I'm only a small favourite. Playing as chipleader is much easier, because then you can bully people around and your opponents are the ones who have to make the big decisions, as they are the ones who will be eliminated if they lose.

Was it hard playing against experienced fun.PokerRoom.com players like Marky_Crash and Puggy82?

Marky_Crash and Puggy82 are both really good players and I am sure they will have success in poker tournaments again in the future. They were most definitely the toughest opponents at the table. Their image differed quite a lot: Marky is really solid and very good, especially in post-flop play, and very hard to read. We did not clash that many times and against him I tried to keep my game as simple as possible. Puggy is much more aggressive and we threw punches at each other many times during the final. For me it is quite easy to get intimidated by players like Puggy and all the time you have to be alert not to confuse a big hand with pure aggression. Puggy gave me a really hard time, especially during the four-handed play.

There were broadcasts of all the previous Race Trophy semi-finals on Eurosport - did you use these to learn something about your opponents?

Well... these kind of programmes tend to give you quite a biased understanding about poker and players as only selected big hands are shown. So, at least in my opinion, you learn much more in 15 minutes playing against somebody than you learn from a one-hour TV programme.

What was the feeling after the last deciding card on the board in the heads-up, when you realized you had just won $285,000?

I really don't remember much about that. It takes time to understand what has happened. Now a couple of days have passed and I am smiling all the time.

You had an entourage of supporters with you at the final - where did they come from?

They were my friends, most of whom flew from Finland to have a fun weekend in Vienna and to support me. There were also a couple of my Austrian friends who live in Vienna and naturally wanted to be there to support me.

You mentioned that you want to play in some live tournaments - are there any in particular that you are interested in?

I'm not sure yet - there are so many choices. I'll probably start with some smaller buy-in ones.
